The Tourist Board promotes golf travel sector in Denmark in a new Sol Danish CupThe Costa del Sol Tourist Board has organised a new edition of the Sol Danish Cup, with the cooperation of Turespaña, the Spanish Tourist Office in Copenhagen, Iberia, and our affiliates in the golf sector. The tournament was organised to promote golf in the Danish market.
Meetings between Danish tour operators and specialist media, and the managers of Costa del Sol-based golf courses were organised in a business day and retreat for both delegations. In addition, the Danish group paid inspection visits to several golf facilities on the Costa del Sol.The event began with a game at Lauro Golf, followed by lunch at the house club. Later, the Danes visited La Cala Resort and the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. Finally, there was a welcome dinner party at the H10 Andalucía Plaza hotel.Day 2 began with breakfast at Parador de Málaga. Afterwards, there was a 90-minute workshop to fill the Danish visitors in on the latest developments in Málaga and get first-hand information on the Danish golf travel market, given the importance of tour operators in sales in Scandinavia.

The workshop was followed by the tournament itself, for teams made up by two Danish tour operators and two Costa del Sol golf course managers. After the tournament, there was a cocktail party and award ceremony, with speeches from team captains, the Director of the Spanish Tourist Office in Copenhagen, and a representative of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board, who thanked everyone for their support to this promotional event, “whose fifth edition is the last in our five-year market plan for Denmark, a tournament held alternately in this outbound market and the Costa del Sol.” Everyone was satisfied with the tournament’s results, and we were asked to implement similar plans in other strong markets. The trophy went to the Costa del Sol team. The closing event was a dinner party at a beach bar next to Parador de Málaga.

Besides the Costa del Sol Tourist Board and the Spanish Tourist Office in Copenhagen, the Sol Danish Cup was attended by Parador de Málaga, La Quinta Golf Resort, Almenara Golf, Lauro Golf, Santa Clara Golf, Finca Cortesín, Alcaidesa Links, El Chaparral Golf, Flamingos Golf Club, Atalaya Golf, La Duquesa Golf Resort, Baviera Golf, Valle Romano Golf, La Cala Golf Resort, Los Naranjos Golf, The San Roque Club, Golfspain.com, the Andalusian Royal Golf Federation, and the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).
