Many of them told us they had been to the Costa del Sol and played golf here. They come from Madrid at weekends to enjoy our facilities, since there are so many licensed players in Madrid (over 96,000) that it is very difficult for locals to play as often as they would like to. Some even own homes in the region, which is why they are so familiar with Málaga.
As usual in this tournament, some of our affiliates came along to make contacts and advertise their facilities or services. César Blanco Alcalá, for instance, Sales Manager for Northern Spain at Fuerte Hoteles, showed some of his chain’s hotels to attendees.
As in the previous rounds, we set up an information point, where we handed out promotional materials from our affiliates, who help organise this golf tour thanks to their contribution of green fees, weekend getaways, spa treatments, and other gifts that we give away at each round. Before the tournament, we gave all participants a promotional bag containing merchandising products from our affiliates and a Costa del Sol gift.
