This morning, the President of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board, Salvador Pendón, held a press conference to introduce the Tourist Board’s Destination Management System (DMS). The new platform, which is unrelated to the Andalucía Virtual Community, is based on two successful models which emerged on the Internet in the past few years: reservation centres/online travel agencies and social networks.
The Tourist Board’s DMS is based on travel product management targeting specific categories or segments. As described by Mr Pendón, it enables destination management through specialist microsites (Flamenco, Leisure Parks, Food, etc.) which are linked to the relevant products (Accommodation, Restaurants, Car Rentals, etc.) and their online marketing .
