In compliance with the Action Plan 2011, the Costa del Sol Tourist Board attended the 20th International Tourism Show of Catalonia (SITC) with Turismo Andaluz, with the aim of showcasing our summer holiday offer to Catalan professionals and general visitors. The event took place at Fira de Barcelona in Montjuïc.
SITC is one of the most important travel fairs in Spain. With an exhibition area of 46,000 square metres, it is a meeting point where sector agents can get information on the demand for new products and destinations.
Besides being a showcase for the travel offer of more than 70 different countries and all the autonomous communities in Spain, gathering 1,200 exhibitors, SITC introduced a cruise area which added up to the traditional Gate to the Desert (Arab world), Mad Travellers (adventure travel), and Pink Corner, in its 3rd edition (gay travel). The guest country this year was Algeria and the guest town, Bilbao.
