This morning, the President of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board, Salvador Pendón, disclosed domestic market data in the face of a new edition of Fitur. The data are encouraging, as most domestic market indicators are positive and the position of the Costa del Sol is strong as compared to that of other travel destinations.
According to the data disclosed by Mr Pendón, in 2010 the Costa del Sol kept its strong position, doing better than rival destinations. The tourists who visited Málaga last year amounted to 8,828,000, i.e. 1.01% more than in 2009.
